Care after microneedle RF. A post-treatment protocol for skin after thermal stimulation
Microneedle radiofrequency is today one of the most effective skin-remodelling treatments: the needles deliver thermal energy directly into the dermis, contracting collagen fibres and stimulating neocollagenesis. For post-treatment care this means a double challenge — micro-damage as after needling plus tissue overheating as after a laser.
The first hours: cool down and relieve
Immediately after the treatment, erythema, swelling and a feeling of radiating heat dominate. The skin needs thermal and antioxidant calming — RF energy generates intense oxidative stress in the tissues that sustains inflammation longer than the treatment itself lasts.
- an antioxidant mist applied touch-free — including in the clinic, right after the procedure
- indirect cooling; no ice or frozen compresses directly on the skin
- sleeping on your back on a clean pillowcase for the first night
- no sauna, swimming pool or workout for 72 hours
Days 1–14: supporting remodelling
Proper collagen remodelling takes weeks — but its quality depends on the environment we create for the skin at the start. The home protocol should combine antioxidant support (ROS neutralisation), hydrolipid barrier rebuilding and consistent photoprotection.

When to return to standard care
Retinoids, acids and intense peels return at the earliest after 10–14 days, always after assessing the skin's condition. It is worth writing this schedule out for the patient on paper or in a message — specifics build trust and reduce the number of “can I already?” calls.
